This text is specifically designed for students in engineering and the sciences and the course is found in statistics departments, mathematics departments, as well as various departments within schools of engineering. When taught in an engineering school, the course is most often found in industrial and civil engineering departments. The concepts taught in the engineering statistics course are similar to those taught in the general introductory statistics courses, but more mathematical sophistication is presumed and the applications are geared toward engineers and scientists. Calculus is a prerequisite for this course.
