The book will feature a set of exercises in structure determination by infrared, carbon and proton NMR, and mass spectroscopy. The material to be provided in the book will be derived from the web-based exercises, which can be viewed online at: ·         in French http://www.unice.fr/cdiec/multispectroscopie/ or ·         in English http://www.unice.fr/cdiec/multispectroscopy/. with the solutions provided, particularly with detailed analysis and explanation of the rational for the solutions. In later exercises the level of explanation will be reduced, primarily providing hints and suggestions. At the final stage, the solution page would have no help, just a page with workspace labelled like the others for the different spectra. Reference materials used, tables of chemical shifts and coupling constants, IR correlation tables, and common fragment ions, will all be included to assist the student in their interpretation.
