Environmental Forensics is an emerging interdisciplinary method of investigation used in developing and resolving cases of environmental contamination. Through the combined efforts of a multi-disciplinary team that typically involves civil and environmental engineers, geologists, hydrologists, toxicologists, and lawyers, each site investigation establishes the extent of the contamination, the probable causes, and the remedial measures needed to restore the site. Based on these findings, either court proceedings or remediation work can begin.
