Most RN’s are employed in hospitals and nursing homes. A marginal number work for physician’s offices and clinics. A growing number are finding employment for home health care services, government agencies, and as travel nurses. Almost one-third work part time. Employment of RN's is expected to increase faster than the average of all occupations through the year 2006 in response to the long-term care needs of a rapidly growing population –especially that of older adults.
