Biodiversity is an inherently multi-disciplinary subject and consequently many of the existing texts do not cover all the material required by every discipline. This book aims to fill  this niche in the market with its breadth of coverage of all the key issues surrounding the study of biodiversity. Many of the texts currently on the market are now becoming slightly dated and do not cover the scope of the subject in such a concise manner. This is a popular subject area and one that Wiley does not really have a lot of product at this level.
