Plastic materials are often used for packing food. Some additives, however, may pass from the plastic material into the food. Since these additives may negatively affect the health, the methods for analyzing migration of harmful substances are highly developed. But it is not only interesting to detect harmful substances after they have spoiled the food but to predict their behaviour in order to find the best material for packing a certain product.
